KMPH Reporter received $355,000 in farm subsidies over five year period.

KMPH channel 26 reporter Ashley Ritchie who ambushed me on Feb. 4 and set off the fire storm in the media received $355 grand in commodity subsidies for farming cotton in Kern, Kings and Tulare County over a five-year period.

See the attached PDF file from the Environmental Working Group's Farm Subsidy Database detailing the money received from 2002-2006.

I have a question.

What does this have to do with Lloyd Carter and his racist comments?

It shows that the reporter

It shows that the reporter was biased in her reporting and should not have been covering ag vs. anything events as she is pro-ag. There is nothing wrong with her support of agriculture, it just presents a one sided story.

Subsidy Queen

Charlie Pfaff, the former GM/VP of KMPH channel 26 was recently fired. KMPH's new owners have brought in Jack Peck from Memphis to take his place. Soon you will hear that the "Subsidy Queen" has left KMPH to spend more time with her family. I bet her family wasn't very happy with the can of worms she opened when she ambushed Mr. Carter?

The EWG report is an utter

The EWG report is an utter falsehood. It is driven by special interest groups out to destroy reputations of farmers who LEGALLY receive subsidies. One of my family members was listed as receiving $900k over the last six years when in reality it was less than $200k. By the way I have access to the companies financials. Environmentalists are out to destroy the farming industry in california and this is how they are going about it. Lloyd, you think food comes from the grocery store. WRONG! It comes from the farms you are out to destroy!!

Just a bunch of farming

Just a bunch of farming rhetoric. The fact is that if we are subsidizing food, then we don't need to be growing it. Subsidies do nothing for the market. Let the free market be free. No more hand outs.
